The Sydney Metro West Project (SMW) consists of 24 kilometres of underground rail and the development of 7 new stations between Westmead and the Sydney CBD, with a Maintenance and Stabling Facility at Clyde. Sydney Metro West will double the rail capacity between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.

Involvement

Key Achievements

  • Design and construction management of critical enabling works including 33kV TBM power at the Bays, 11kV relocations and decommissioning of substations at Parramatta, and major Telstra and Jemena relocations at Westmead, delivered on time and under budget.
  • Management of Sydney Water Specialist Engineering Assessments (SEA) approvals for TBM power construction routes.
  • Negotiation and execution of utility interface agreements.
  • Successful management of non-contestable communication tower relocations at Parramatta and the CBD.
  • Successfully managed construction power designs and negotiated approvals with asset owners, delivering certified designs for each station location.
  • Update project risk register monthly and provide utilities scope cost data for quarterly quantitative risk assessments.

Key Benefits

  • Delivery of Utility Status Document which captures key utility scope, risk items, and consultation with utility providers to be included in the tender documentation for the Tunnel and Station Excavation contractor.
  • Management and delivery of certified designs for all utility relocation designs for the various tunnelling contracts (ETP, CTP, and WTP), reducing delivery risk and program impacts.
