The Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 project involved extensive utilities management across a 12 km corridor in a densely serviced urban environment. The route intersected major water, gas, electrical, and telecommunication assets, requiring detailed service investigations, stakeholder engagement, and complex coordination. Utilities relocation and protection strategies were developed in collaboration with asset owners to minimise service disruptions and ensure construction feasibility.

Involvement
Croí personnel were involved in:
- Management of all utility designs, construction and utility stakeholder interfaces across the 12 kilometre alignment.
- Coordinate with Design JV digital engineering team for clash detection for existing and all design stages on the project.
- Identification all of utility scope/impacted assets.
- Agreement of utility treatments with utility providers.
- Management of dedicated utility provider delivery teams for the project.
- Negotiated accelerated energisation program to bring in line with wider project program
Key Achievements
- Design development and delivery of the utilities scope included the delivery of 211 utilities packages including electrical (38), Jemena (41), telecommunications (97), Sydney Water (45).
- Stakeholder assets successfully managed including the Sydney Water Norther Suburbs Ocean Outfall Sewer (NSOOS), Specialist Engineering Assessment for Camellia Rising Sewer Main at SP067 and the Caltex (Ampol) Pipeline at Camellia
- Traction substations energised in time for train testing and commissioning.
- Energisation of permanent power for the 11kV feeders from Endeavour Energy on behalf of TfNSW, and the energisation of 7 x Traction Substations providing power for the PLR alignment.
