Orana Renewable Energy Zone in NSW
is Australia’s first declared REZ, covering
about 20,000 km2 around Dubbo and
Dunedoo, and will deliver up to 6 GW of
network capacity by 2038 to connect
wind, solar, and storage projects to the
grid.

Involvement
Croí are currently engaged to provide Commercial and Finance, Delivery – Construction, Delivery – Technical and Connections, Operations and Commissioning (COC) services for the delivery phase of the Central West Oranan Renewable Zone. Professional services provided include:
- Commercial Management – Ports to REZ

Key Achievements
- First REZ formally declared in NSW.
- Procurement completed and ACEREZ consortium (ACCIONA, COBRA, Endeavour Energy) appointed to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the project for 35 years.
- Transmission route and infrastructure scope confirmed with 240 km of high-voltage lines, two energy hubs (Merotherie & Elong Elong), one switching station (Barigan Creek), and synchronous condensers.
- Network capacity increased from 3 GW to an initial 4.5 GW, with a pathway to 6 GW by 2038.
- Early works and site preparation underway mid-2025, including access tracks, geotechnical investigations, and preliminary civil works.
