The Sydney Desalination Plant Network Expansion (SDPNE) project seeks to enhance water resilience, mitigate risks, and augment capacity. Positioned as the inaugural project under the Reliable Water Supply program, SDPNE involves network augmentation required to transfer an increase of 250 ML/d output from the Sydney Desalination Plant into the wider potable water network.

Involvement
Croí personnel were engaged as Utilities and Digital Engineering specialists to inform the business case and concept design of the project. This scope included:
- 3D utilities modelling
- Develop GIS output of utilities model
- GIS platform management
- Clash analysis
- Detailed impact assessment
- Risk assessment
- Utility site investigation coordination
- Utility subject matter expert support (design and procurement)
- Business case and tender documentation
Key Achievements
- Identified major utilities interface risks associated with the preferred alignment and provide utilities information in an easily understood format for use in the tender for a concept design service provider
- Create and maintain GIS platform for viewing and sharing utilities information to inform design and site investigations
- Develop and maintain a robust utilities model to enable more efficient concept design processes
