Key Achievements
- Croí personnel established a Utilities Working Group made of dedicated resources and representatives from all interfacing utility authorities. This involved negotiating and executing confidentiality deeds, preliminary cost agreements, and interface agreements as appropriate. The Utilities Working Group ensured continuity in liaison between Sydney Metro and the utility providers, providing a forum to escalate issues for faster resolution and improve collaborative inputs from utility authorities.
- Technical lead in developing, negotiating, and executing the Sydney Metro/TransGrid Interface Agreement. Oversaw protections for 330kV cables where damage could cause a CBD blackout, major project delays, and substantial contractor claims.
- Created the new “Utilities Unexpected Finds Process” for multiple brownfield contracts. This process map is followed when unknown or unexpected utilities are encountered during works within the rail corridor. Worked with Sydney Metro Project Directors, Interface Project Managers, and Sydney Trains personnel to drive successful outcomes. The team identified 1000+ unknown services during project delivery.
- Managed an early works package of design-only contract for power, obtaining certified designs for over 40 Ausgrid designs for the tunnelling and station excavation (TSE) project, including 13 substations as part of the demolition package. This was the largest substation relocation package in Ausgrid’s history.
- Negotiated bespoke contracts with Ausgrid and Sydney Water to deliver interfacing utility authority capital works as part of the Sydney Metro C&SW project, ensuring best-for-community outcomes in areas at risk of construction fatigue while maintaining network integrity.
- Delivered program-critical flood modelling assessment and detailed design for the relocation of trunk stormwater culverts important for two major contracts.
- Successfully estimated and managed costs of utilities scope, ensuring enabling works were delivered on time and within budget.
